2017 Willits Classic Results and Photos

Race day turned out to be great and the event was awesome. The Striders’ Willits Classic got great coverage in the “Willits Weekly” today. You can read all about it on page 12 & 13 online. Their reporter and photography, Mathew Caine, was at the event taking photos and talking to participants all day.

Thank you Howard Memorial Hospital for sponsoring this event, and thank you to all the volunteers and participants.
We would like to give a special thanks to Ready, Set ,Go (Dottie and Gordon) for timing the races at no charge.

Boontling Classic

5k Footrace – Sunday, May 7, 10:00 a.m.

The 2017 Boontling Classic (35 years!!) is on May 7th.  The race starts and finishes at the Anderson Valley Elementary School. There are plaques for the top three overall and ribbons for the top three in each division (for each gender). There will also be a drawing after the race.

Entry fees are $8.00 for everyone. Add $2 if you want a shirt or are registering the day of. Subtract $2 if you are a NCS member. Race day registration will begin at the Anderson Valley Elementary School at 8:30 am.

Willits Classic Race

The Willits Classic 10 mile run and 5K run/walk will be February 12, 2017


This race is sponsored by Howard Memorial Hospital and is put on to Benefits Willits High School Cross-Country and Track programs.

This perennially popular footrace starts at 10 a.m. for the 10 milers and at 10:30 a.m. for the 5K run/walkers at Recreation Grove on East Commercial Street in Willits.

Top three overall male/female for the two events will receive prizes. 1st in all age divisions receive medals. 2nd, 3rd in all age divisions receive ribbons.
The age groups are 9 & under, 10-13, 14-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

The 10-mile run circles the farming community of Willits’ Little Lake Valley, following beautiful rural roads.  With mostly flat terrain, it offers a fun, fast course.  The 5K course is a shorter version of the same.  Refreshments and hot drinks are served at the finish.

Event details and schedule
9:00 am Race day registration and bib pickup.
10:00 am Start of 10 mile.
10:30 am Start of 5K.

[Free Race] Dog Daze 10K

7:30 a.m., Date TBA @ Oak Manor Park

No excuses, no frills.
Accurate timing, common course, and race adrenaline.
Dogs on leash are welcome.
Start and finish at Oak Manor Park.

The course takes you past redwoods, vineyards and orchards. The course provides a challenging 250′, 1-mile climb; the rest is downhill or flat. Water will be provided in the park.
